For my Professional Practice subject, one of the tasks involves investigating a number of companies which I would like to work for. What came to mind first is local, high en streetwear label Ksubi. Based locally in Sydney, the street wear aesthetic of the brand focuses on denim, my area of focus for my graduate work. Through research of brands which I see as design mentors I was able to learn about the company and their background. The brand conveys a down-to-earth style, with emphasis on denim and a rougher edge to high end fashion. Below are some examples of their work, which differentiates Ksubi from other brands within the high-end fashion market, echoing the international position of Diesel within Australia.

Previously I’ve looked at the Spring/Summer 2010 Ksubi collection, which I found fascinating. Not having researched the label prior to this investigation I was somewhat awestruck by the shared aesthetic of some of my own work. The example below illustrates my design style of  utilising cut-outs and body conscious panel lines.
